Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/30/2023 — Super quiet. A few snook at night, an occasional black drum, and a couple trout.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/16/2023 — A few snook at night, plus some surprise trout. Black drum and mangrove snapper are around during the day. Everything has been small except the drum.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/09/2023 — Nocturnal catch-and-release snook, mostly smaller ones. A few trout, but not much for size or numbers. Mangrove snapper, with some that are just big enough to keep. No sheepshead reports yet.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/02/2023 — Odd this week. Only two reports: One barely legal snook on the last day of season, a couple mangrove snapper and black drum.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  11/25/2023 — Black drum are slower but there are a few. Some short trout here also. Lots of snook at night, including a few keepers. Mangrove snapper are mostly small but a few are big enough to harvest.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  11/18/2023 — Some black drum both day and night. A lot of snook, but no reports of legal ones. Good numbers of mangrove snapper and a few trout.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  11/11/2023 — Still quite a few black drum, but not as many as before, mostly eating blue crabs. Lots of nocturnal snook and juvenile tarpon. A couple sheepshead were caught, but it wasn't repeatable. A few decent keeper mangrove snapper.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  11/05/2023 — This is a snook hotspot at night, mostly short but a few keepers. Swimbaits and shrimp are working well. Tarpon up to about 60 pounds are scattered around at night. A few larger black drum are under the bridge and pier, eating frozen blue crabs.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  10/28/2023 — A lot of short snook here too. Some juvenile tarpon seen but not hooked. Black drum are eating blue crabs on the bottom. No snapper or sheepshead reports.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  10/07/2023 — Pretty quiet, probably due to all the rain. A few short snook, but no mangrove snapper reported.

Capt. Josh & Fishin' Frank 10/03/23  — Sporadic for most fish, but the snook bite late at night has been good. Cast parallel to the trestle with a large Crystal Minnow or Rapala X-Rap 10 size.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  06/10/2023 — Snook are doing OK at night. Juvenile tarpon are present in the morning but not hitting. A few trout and Spanish mackerel from the seawall. Black drum can be heard at night.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  06/03/2023 — Snook at night. A few juvenile tarpon that aren't eating. A few trout from the seawall. A few Spanish mackerel around the bridge.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  05/20/2023 — Kind of slow, but there are some snook and tarpon at night, and the early mornings have produced a few tarpon and some big jacks.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  05/13/2023 — A lot of nocturnal snook, juvenile tarpon early in the morning, and big jacks around at random times. Mangrove snapper reports are sparse.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  03/25/2023 — A whole lotta snook in the overnight hours and the first hour of daylight. Most anglers are using live shrimp; some are throwing flairhawk bucktails or large soft plastics. A few trout, sheepshead and small mangrove snapper are also biting, but not very consistent.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  03/18/2023 — The snook action has been good to great at night, with a fair number of keepers. Shrimp are the hot bait. Some fish are taking NLBN soft plastics or bucktails too. During the day, no snook; just a couple trout, small mangrove snapper and small sheepshead.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  03/11/2023 — Some keeper snook have been caught at night, mostly from 10 p.m. to sunrise, along with loads of undersize fish. A few small tarpon have been providing random entertainment. A few trout and mangrove snapper reports too, and one report of sheepshead.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  03/04/2023 — Snook at night. Not many people are talking about it, but there are probably lots of snook. Daytime is slow, but there have been a few mangrove snapper and trout around.

It is the Lady fish and Spanish mackerel that is keeping them here, so a lot of different types of fish to
catch here, at El-Jo there is Trout and Snappers with some good Snook fishing after dark

Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/31/2022 — Some trout and a couple sheepshead. The night bite for snook has been pretty incredible — both numbers and size.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/24/2022 — A few trout, mangrove snapper and snook at night. Sheepshead *should* be moving into this area over the next week or so.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/17/2022 — Night fishing has been good, with plenty of snook up to 36 inches and juvenile tarpon to 40 pounds. There are also some baby goliath groupers around. Mangrove snapper have been caught during the day, but sheepshead are still slow right now.

Cattle dock and the locks entrance have a school which is at one or the other places
The Tarpon in the river is on and the lady fish have showed up here, and that is the key to hook up
