Some of the best about a 1/2 mile north on hte sand bars, In tippy there is both snook and reds with sharks and Jacks in hte center of the bay and Spanish mackerel at the mouth of the river

The oyster bars just north of el jo is red fish heaven. The cut off has good snook and reds in it

The cut off is full of fish but it is shallow. The Snook and a bunch of reds in hte cut off Big, Big, Snook the reds are smaller but a lot of them mixed with sheep head.

in it, The south end just inside and to the right, in the fist bay on the north shore
the reds are hanging out under the trees when the water is up. Trout at the north and south
entrances. Big Snook up in the back of the north end.

there is lots of Trout and quite a few Reds along the shore lone, mostly rats
but a higher rate of keepers than I would have thought.

there is more reds in tippy than the cut off . cut bait is the key to red fish here in tippy

 

 


Fishin Frank & Robert's report--04/27/15------ Cobia on the Franks flat, Thread fin and green backs
are the bait of choice here. If you are trying for Cobia look for where the white sand turns to muddy bottom
Ell lure like the Gulp or Berkely power bait  work well on the Cobia, I just got in more Hogy lures
and they were really working on the cobia. I choose the pre rigged lures which can be twitched in the
Shallow water off Bay shore or Here at the flats of the cut-off

El -jo Still has Snook, but the Tarpon late at night is getting better by the night, Still some Snapper
and a few Trout here.

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--04/13/15------Myakka River is a good shot at your Tarpon
and the flats off hog island have had Pompano and sopme Sea Trout biting here.
Red ifsh in the cut off are still eating shrimp but they are almost all under slot fish.
Spanish and Trout up by El jo. and after dark the Larger snappers and some big Snook
 

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--04/07/15------ Tarpon at the mouth of the river,
while you are there you might as well catch some of the Cobia and sharks.
The Snook and snapper bite is late at El-Jo. ok during the day for some snappers
but after 10 :pm it is way better

under the car bridges. Night to night it is tarpon then Snook and back and forth
Snapper fishing is good.
Trout creek is iffy with big reds and some nice Snook. Black drum in the creeks
The Jacks are in the cut off and working the creeks.
Tarpon and Cobia near marker #8 There is Black tip

Hog island has Red fish. The cut has reds but smaller than out side

Snook fishing at el jo is very good early in the AM.
The cut-off is holding a bunch of red fish and Snook. there is a lot of fish here.

not many, on the news of the starnge The Tarpon are been swimming allong the mangroves
and while the guys are trying for Snook they have been hooking Tarpom.
Small sharks in the River, the cobia are small but steady near the el jo bridge and pier
snapper from the pier

This is the middle of the river of the hog islands side.

and at El-jo pier early in the morning the Snook fishing is good and the snapper fishing
is good during the day. there are some Trout

The Myakka has a bunch of Sharks and the Tarpon are here as well all the way up to EL jo
The Pompano may also be found on the river side of Hog island.

The Sharks are better fishing as you get into the river ,

At el jo the snappers are thick under the birdge and near the Pier,. Have not heard much fro the cut off
but one reports of Snook at the north end.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/31/2022 — A couple trout in 5 to 6 feet toward Hog Island. Nothing from the cutoff though. Snook should be good and there should be trout at the west end of the cutoff, but the lack of reports may be due to the very low tides recently.

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--01/22/15-------  The Cut  off has some real nice Reds
in it, The south end just inside and to the right, in the fist bay on the north shore
the reds are hanging out under the trees when the water is up. Trout at the north and south
entrances. Big Snook up in the back of the north end.

there is lots of Trout and quite a few Reds along the shore lone, mostly rats
but a higher rate of keepers than I would have thought.

and Sheep head, Over in tippy there is some Pompano and Red fish, the POmpano
are of course out in the center, and the reds are back inside by the first set of islands

in the cut-off, the larger ones more keeper ones have been up in Tippy canoe
the sheep head at EL-Jo pier are doing ok to fair,
Trout at El -jo good twilight and day break.

tidal pools every time the sun shines even a little, I think they are cold

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--03/30/15------ Tarpon in the river, The cut off is great Snook
fishing right now, and is one place where Shrimp is still the bait for Red fish, the fish
 in the cut off are eating Shrimp, The farther south you get the more things are white bait.
But up here the Shrimp fishing is still rockin

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--03/22/15------ The river has some Spanish, and quite a few Sharks
the Tarpon are feeding at El jo ealry or late at night, and The Snook fishing is starting to get real good again
Grouper / Jew fish are also showing up here at the pier.
 a few whiting and Sea trout.

day, Snook fishing at night is OK but not great. Tippy canoe and the cut off is where the Red fish
went. the reds are in both in good numbers, Some Trout in the back middle of the bay

 in the cut off are eating Shrimp, The farther south you get the more things are white bait.
But up here the Shrimp fishing is still rockin

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--03/22/15------ The river has some Spanish, and quite a few Sharks
the Tarpon are feeding at El jo ealry or late at night, and The Snook fishing is starting to get real good again
Grouper / Jew fish are also showing up here at the pier.
 a few whiting and Sea trout.

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--03/09/15-------El-jo has Snapper & Trout during the
day, Snook fishing at night is OK but not great. Tippy canoe and the cut off is where the Red fish
went. the reds are in both in good numbers, Some Trout in the back middle of the bay

the Snapper and Trout are both hitting pretty good during the day time.
The north end of Tippy is holding both Snook

the Snook fishing is just getting started going to get better by the day
In the cut off a few schools of Red fish , and a bunch of snook in the narrows
The Reds on the south end are in 3 schools which seem to be moving along the shore line from there to
alligator bay.

Fishin Frank & Robert   03/16/16---- The cut off on the north end has nice size Trout and a school od good size Reds
the south end has 3 schools of reds working the flats, as you get into the cut off the reds seem to scatter along
the shore line
Out in the river the Cobia are hanging out at marker 8 and the pier at el jo has some good snook fishing at night

Fishin Frank & Robert   03/24/16---- The El jo pier has been getting a bunch of Tarpon at night
and the Snook fishing is just getting better as the night progresses. Some Trout during the day
The Cut-off has a bunch of Snook and quite a few Red fish.

 

April-4
Fishin Frank & Robert's report--04/27/15------ Cobia on the Franks flat, Thread fin and green backs
are the bait of choice here. If you are trying for Cobia look for where the white sand turns to muddy bottom
Ell lure like the Gulp or Berkely power bait  work well on the Cobia, I just got in more Hogy lures
and they were really working on the cobia. I choose the pre rigged lures which can be twitched in the
Shallow water off Bay shore or Here at the flats of the cut-off

El -jo Still has Snook, but the Tarpon late at night is getting better by the night, Still some Snapper
and a few Trout here.

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--04/13/15------Myakka River is a good shot at your Tarpon
and the flats off hog island have had Pompano and sopme Sea Trout biting here.
Red ifsh in the cut off are still eating shrimp but they are almost all under slot fish.
Spanish and Trout up by El jo. and after dark the Larger snappers and some big Snook
 

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--04/07/15------ Tarpon at the mouth of the river,
while you are there you might as well catch some of the Cobia and sharks.
The Snook and snapper bite is late at El-Jo. ok during the day for some snappers
but after 10 :pm it is way better

Fishin Frank & Robert   04/06/16---- el Jo is doing well at night with Snook and Tarpon
under the car bridges. Night to night it is tarpon then Snook and back and forth
Snapper fishing is good.
Trout creek is iffy with big reds and some nice Snook. Black drum in the creeks
The Jacks are in the cut off and working the creeks.
Tarpon and Cobia near marker #8 There is Black tip

Hog island has Red fish. The cut has reds but smaller than out side

Snook fishing at el jo is very good early in the AM.
The cut-off is holding a bunch of red fish and Snook. there is a lot of fish here.
The 14 ft hole is a good spot for Tarpon , sharks and Cobia

The river has Sharks and Spanish. The sharks smaller ones like black tip are thicker near the mouth
Lot of snook in the cut off and some red fish

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--05/25/15------ In the cut off there has been, Reds and Snook
not many, on the news of the starnge The Tarpon are been swimming allong the mangroves
and while the guys are trying for Snook they have been hooking Tarpom.
Small sharks in the River, the cobia are small but steady near the el jo bridge and pier
snapper from the pier

Jacks , Spanish mackerel. Dont forget there is quite a few smaller sharks here as well

and the Tarpon are moving back into the mouth of the river in the late morning<
After dark they tarpon seem to head to El jo and the Tarpon fishing from the pier
 is doing well.

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--06/24/15------ Ther are some Cobia in the river
and at El-jo pier early in the morning the Snook fishing is good and the snapper fishing
is good during the day. there are some Trout

number of Cobia, The Trout and a few Red fish on the grass near hog island.

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--07/28/15------ Pompano and Spanish mackerel
The Myakka has a bunch of Sharks and the Tarpon are here as well all the way up to EL jo
The Pompano may also be found on the river side of Hog island.

The Sharks are better fishing as you get into the river ,

At el jo the snappers are thick under the birdge and near the Pier,. Have not heard much fro the cut off
but one reports of Snook at the north end.

Fishin Frank & Robert   11/23/15----- Tarpon and Sharks , holding and feeding near the mouth of the river
It is the Lady fish and Spanish mackerel that is keeping them here, so a lot of different types of fish to
catch here, at El-Jo there is Trout and Snappers with some good Snook fishing after dark

El-jo has good Snook fishing right now. Up in the cut off, there are quite a few Red fish, and Some decent
Trout fishing near the mouth

The Pompano on the river side of Hg island are doing better
At el-jo the day time has snapper and some Sheep head the big snook and Tarpon both come

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--12/30/14------- Red Fish in the cut off,
At El-jo the Trout fishing is good at night, out in front of Hog island there
is Pompano and & close to shore some big Snook. Look for better size
cobia out on the flat in front of the cut off, 4 feet of water-ish
