Robert &  Capt. Josh  02/10/2024 — Pompano, whiting, some small jacks, a couple flounder seen but not hooked.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  01/27/2024 — Better closer to the passes. Whiting, a few pompano, and random sheepshead. Some bigger sharks from the shore also.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  01/13/2024 — Some whiting and a couple pompano and sheepshead at Boca Grande Pass and Stump Pass.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/16/2023 — Gasparilla Island has had sheepshead and Spanish mackerel at the pass. Some sharks in the 3- to 5-foot range have been caught from beaches a b it further north on Gasparilla Island.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/09/2023 — Sheepshead and redfish have been caught from the beach in Boca Grande Pass. Stump Pass and Caspersen Beach have jacks and whiting, and pompano if you get lucky.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/02/2023 — Big ladyfish in Boca Grande Pass. At many scattered locations, the Spanish mackerel have been coming close enough to cast at. Lots of whiting reported all up and down the coast. A few jacks and a few blue runners. The beach snook are thinning out rapidly. A couple semi-random sheepshead.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  11/25/2023 — Caspersen Beach has had some snook and whiting. Pompano are scattered from Boca to Venice, with the best reports at Stump Pass. Jacks, bluefish and Spanish mackerel might be anywhere. Some small sharks of assorted species.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  11/18/2023 — A few snook, mostly closer to the passes. Whiting, Spanish mackerel and sharks might be anywhere, but the passes are a good bet.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  11/11/2023 — Some whiting, a few snook, blue runners, jacks and a handful of small sharks. If you're near the passes, Spanish mackerel are a strong possibility.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  11/05/2023 — Caspersen Beach and Stump Pass have had snook, sharks, jacks and Spanish mackerel. Boca Grande has Spanish mackerel and a few mangrove snapper. A handful of whiting are scattered all over.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  10/28/2023 — Caspersen Beach has had Spanish mackerel, whiting and pompano. Stump Pass has the same plus snook. Jacks and lizardfish might be around anyplace.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  10/14/2023 — Boca Grande and Blind Pass are producing whiting, snook, ladyfish and some Spanish mackerel. Conditions have been a bit rough lately.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  10/07/2023 — Caspersen Beach has had a mixed bag of pompano, Spanish mackerel and jacks. Stump Pass has been producing whiting and snook.

Capt. Josh & Fishin' Frank 10/03/23  — Most of the snook have moved away, but there are whiting and sometimes Spanish mackerel getting close to shore.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  09/16/2023 — Lots of little snook. Some slot fish have been seen but not caught. Whiting, jacks, Spanish mackerel, and lots of bait-stealers have also been around.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  09/09/2023 — Not many reports, but some redfish, snook and whiting have been caught at Stump Pass and Boca Grande. There were also some juvenile lane snapper at Stump Pass.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  07/22/2023 — Snook are decent still. Bluefish, whiting, jacks and Spanish mackerel are also showing up on Gasparilla Island, at Blind Pass, at Caspersen Beach. Small sharks are around; big shark reports are few.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  07/15/2023 — Snook are good at most beaches. On some beaches, Spanish mackerel have been chasing bait right into the surf. Whiting are at Blind Pass Beach and at some of the Gasparilla Island beaches.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  07/01/2023 — Blind Pass beach, Stump Pass and all the Gasparilla Island beaches are snooked up. There are also lots of whiting, a few bluefish, a few jacks, and a few smaller sharks.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  06/24/2023 — Wave action has been heavy, but there are whiting and snook out there.  A couple short flounder, jacks and bluefish might show up. Some smaller sharks have also been reported, but oddly no bigger sharks. Pounding surf usually means decent shelling and shark tooth hunting.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  06/10/2023 — Lots of snook at most of the beaches. Quite a few whiting reports this week. A couple very short flounder. Spanish mackerel and bluefish may move into casting range, especially if there's bait around. Some small sharks, mostly bonnetheads.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  06/03/2023 — Boca Grande, Englewood and Stump Pass beaches all have snook in the evening. A few Spanish mackerel, ladyfish and pompano have also been caught.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  05/13/2023 — Snook at Lighthouse Beach on Boca Grande, and all over the place really. All up and down the coast, we've seen jacks, Spanish mackerel, ladyfish, pompano and a couple over oversize redfish. Avoid Stump Pass on weekends due to all the sandbar partying.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  03/25/2023 — Stump Pass and Boca Grande Pass are reporting Spanish mackerel, sheepshead, snook and jacks.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  03/18/2023 — Stump Pass has had a few pompano and small snook, both on the beach and Ski Alley sides. See Boca Grande report also.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  03/11/2023 — Boca Grande Pass has been producing redfish, whiting and sheepshead. However, a lot of places still have a whiff of red tide (but it's fading).

Robert &  Capt. Josh  03/04/2023 — No reports due to red tide.

White bait, or shrimp, or Pin fish or cut bait good luck with these fish, you see a school of

April

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--04/13/15------ walking the beaches casting very close to shore
paralle to the sand 3 feet of water is wher you will find your snook. the Spanish and Pompano are

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--05/15/15------ WHiitng and Snook would be the most common
along with jacks , Blue runners and Tarpon. Scatter reports of Sharks but if you can see the Tarpon
cast to them keep it low.

Fishin Frank 05/09/15 ----- The spanish are close to the beach, and If you want
shot at a 100 pound + tarpon early morning on the beaches from Sanibel to Venice
get a DOA bait buster or a 16 sich bomber and wlak along casting out. and with the DOA
jig it back but not too much up and down and slow to moderate retrive.
With the Bomber moderate retrive steady reeling. I would start at the very first light
and it sould be good until about 9:am,
