Robert & Capt. Josh 02/24/2024 — Lots of short cobia and a few keepers. A few trout and incidental pompano.

Robert & Capt. Josh 02/17/2024 — Pirate Harbor has a few smaller sheepshead and trout, and some bonnethead sharks were seen cruising the bar. A few snook and rat reds under the bushes around the islands.

Robert & Capt. Josh 12/02/2023 — The outer island edges have had small snook. For redfish, get way back into the creeks. A few trout were caught in front of Pirate Harbor. Bonnetheads are on the flats in 2 to 4 feet.

Robert & Capt. Josh 11/18/2023 — Mediocre. Some smaller trout and a few keeper, if you cover enough ground. You might find better ones north of Pirate Harbor in about 3 feet of water. Shrimp and soft plastics are working.

Robert & Capt. Josh 11/11/2023 — Mixed reports of a few trout around the channel, plus snook and redfish around the trees.

Robert & Capt. Josh 11/05/2023 — Trout are scattered out front on the flats and around the islands. Some snook. juvenile tarpon and decent mangrove snapper are in the Pirate Harbor canals.

Robert & Capt. Josh 10/28/2023 — Redfish, redfish and more redfish around the shrubbery eating a variety of baits. Not many snook, though. Trout on the flats and around the bar, but fewer than the west wall. Schooling ladyfish along the bar, and a few tarpon eating them.

Robert & Capt. Josh 10/14/2023 — From Burnt Store to just north or Pirate Harbor, we've got lots of redfish along the bushes and lots of trout on the flat. Cutbait is good for the reds.

Robert & Capt. Josh 10/07/2023 — Some redfish. small snook, and very small trout around Pirate Harbor.

Capt. Josh & Fishin' Frank 10/03/23 — A lot of small to medium snook, with a few slots around. You can try a bigger lure to keep the little fish away, but your action will go way down.

Robert & Capt. Josh 09/16/2023 — Redfish and small snook. A few juvenile tarpon. Random schools of ladyfish along the outside of the bar.

Robert & Capt. Josh 09/09/2023 — A few redfish. Lots of little snook. Some small trout. A few bonnetheads. Lots of juvenile tarpon around.

Robert & Capt. Josh 09/02/2023 — Some redfish, a handful of snook, some mangrove snapper, and at least one juvenile tarpon. Whitebait hasn't been working well, but live or cut pinfish or cut ladyfish are good choices.

Robert & Capt. Josh 07/22/2023 — Pretty quiet. There are some small trout at the mouth of Pirate Harbor, plus a couple random sharks seen not caught.

Robert & Capt. Josh 06/24/2023 — Pirate Harbor has trout and bonnetheads on the flats, plus mangrove snapper and snook in the canals.

Robert & Capt. Josh 06/10/2023 — A few redfish, a bunch of little snook and a couple juvenile tarpon hooked inside Pirate Harbor on whitebait. Some bonnethead sharks on the flats as well.

Robert & Capt. Josh 06/03/2023 — Bonnetheads outside the bar and smaller snook along the shorelines. Trout and redfish reports are few to none.

Robert & Capt. Josh 05/20/2023 — Just a few snook, bonnetheads and trout. Lots of manatees having a party, and a few cobia with them.

Robert & Capt. Josh 05/13/2023 — Lots of little snook. A handful of small to barely legal redfish. Very few trout. Small sharks. A mating herd of manatees has been spotted between here and Alligator Creek; try to avoid running over them.

Robert & Capt. Josh 03/25/2023 — It's been weird. Some anglers report doing well on trout, redfish and small snook. Others say it's been slow, but they're seeing fish. The determining factor is probably how stealthy you are.

Robert & Capt. Josh 03/18/2023 — Lots of trout, mostly small, on top of and outside the bar. Bonnetheads are in the same area, plus on the open flats. Snook and redfish are scattered around the islands. Not many keepers.

Robert & Capt. Josh 03/11/2023 — Bonnetheads and small trout. Baby cobia have also been seen. Smaller snook and redfish are scattered around the islands. Good manatee viewing here this week.

Robert & Capt. Josh 03/04/2023 — South of Pirate Harbor, not a lot. To the north, some trout, a few snook and some redfish in the backcountry, plus some trout and bonnethead sharks on the flats. A few short cobia have been seen and caught, but nothing close to keeper size.

trolling to find them once you get the hit Poppin corks with live Shrimp are your buddy
Back amoung the Islands The Red fish are holding way back, Finding deeper holes way back is tough, On the close islands
you will find reds but most are under size 18 to 20 inch . The Sheep head big sheep head are under the mangroves
where ever you can find 3 feet of water or more. This seems to be the new spawning grounds for larger Sheep head

The Red fish are out in the more open water between the islands drift across the flats, dragging a shrimp
or casting a Shrimp on a light jig head.

The lady fish have been just out side the bar and there is some Pompano and Cobia out there as well.
But there have been more reports of Cobia behind the bar, People Trout fishing and hooking a Cobia instead.

trying to fnd a trough or hole next to the mangroves is key to a bunch of fish,
Incoming tide seems to be the tide to fish here,
Out on the bar some Pompano and Trout althuo the larger Trout still seem to be just inside the bar

I think the larger reds are back, way back under the mangroves but the larger Trout are out close to the inside of the bar
Snook fishing around the islands is great and getting better.

are just off the mangroves 10 feet or so. not so much under the trees as out in front of them
The Snook however are under the mangrove but will come out and bite when you are ctahcing the red ifsh

more at the north end, but the fish seem to be spreading out. Red ifsh under the mangroves
on many of the islands. the Snook are back around the islands find a small bay on an island
and keep your boat way back cast a poppin cork with Shrimp or if you have it white bait.

ago, but they are mostly on the northern end,
Out side the bar there are Cobia and Sharks smaller one fun on light spin tackle or Fly rod

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--03/02/15------- Pirate Harbor is well, lets just say forget
that araea there are no fish there right now, Maybe it just got hammered too much for a while
time to give it a rest. The fish have moved north along the east side and there are quite a few Red
back under the mangroves. The are some big reds and Good size Trout out next to the bar on the inside
Out side the bar the Cobia have been working the shore line.

Fishin Frank & Robert 04/29/16---- Snook and Red fish when heading in for your Snook
that clear water will make you pucker up. it looks like 5 inches deep when you are in 2 feet of water
Look for the Big rays for your cobia. the Cobia are hiding right on top of them

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--04/27/15------Have not heard a lot about the east side
I know from the reports I did get the Trout are out by the sand bar, and while not many in numbers
they are larger fish then we have had all season. The Snook are still up by the mangrove
but the numbers are low, From 18 inches to slot size there are Snook back around the islands
But slower fishing than a week ago here.
Red fish here on the east side has picked up, but find a deeper hole back between islands
seems to be the trick. If the hole has good cover from some leafy Mangrove branchs
You should have a good school of Reds to catch.

The boat channel between carmin key and the isalnds is also loaded up with Snook
The Snook are hanging out in these holes troughs anywhere there is deep water, thinking they are
on the beach getting ready to spawn. the east side has stayed clear So there is not any fresh water here
to make them leave.

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--04/13/15------ Out side the bar, the Spanish and Cobia are
running the bar in about 4 foot of water. inside right next to the bar, in the trough there are some nice reds.
While there are a few Big Snook out by the bar, there are a lot more Snook back by the islands,
The ones back on the islands are mostly slot to short. but there is a lot of them.

Cobia and sharks on the bar. This is the time to cruise the bar slowly and watch for big fish
swimming in the shallow clear water. You will never forget the sight of it. Worth the time & effort

and fish the in-coming water, the river is up to 11 foot in Arcaida that means a 9 foot wall of fresh water
coming down river and the water is hot, So being on the east side at low tide and working
the islands where ever there is shade, for Snook or Red fish will get you that great day you are wanting.
Strnge enough there is a bunch of larger Trout out on the bar, again better on the in-coming tide
but there is quite a few big Trout.

There are some Snook out by the bar, but once the sun gets stronger look under the mangroves

from the east side each day, the fihsing here is picking up a little which is wired as the water temp
is rising. it way be the after noon storms and cloud cover is keeping the east side a little cooler
and the fish are hangin here because of that. The is not enouugh rain to make it fresh just enough
to cool it down.

of Red fish, there has been a good number of Trout on to of the bar

In the shallow water look for a gap in the islands for the bigger snook holding between two

Lots of lady fish and a lot of Snook scattered around the front inlands and the red fisj
are way back around the islands

Tarpon are just in side the bar better just north of pirate harbor.
The trick to the east side right now is to find a cut between the islands, where the water is flowing more.

But they will hit top waters, The snook like the new Rapala Rip stop,

Fishin Frank & Robert 08/25/17--------Pirate harbor from the near inslands to inside
the red fish are thick, Bunch like 5 fish in a group and if you catch one you should be able to hook all five>
The in-coming tide is a little bit better, some Trout out side the bar 5 foot and you will hook some skarks while Trout fishing
A tom of smaller Snook here on the east side

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 09/21/19 ------ a lot of snook and red fish all over a there is nice schools of red fish 10 to 30 fish and watch for the mullet there is reds with them and Cobia out side the bar and even some possible tarpon by the bar just in side or out, Spoons and cut mullet are the bait of choice

Robert & Capt. Josh 12/31/2022 — Trout on the outside of the bar. Snook around the backwaters and islands. Small bonnetheads on the flats.

Robert & Capt. Josh 12/24/2022 — Good trout around Pirate Harbor, but otherwise mostly quiet except a handful of smaller snook.

Robert & Capt. Josh 12/17/2022 — Most reports have been around Pirate Harbor. Short cobia and bonnetheads are on the bar. Snook, redfish and mangrove snapper are on the shorelines. Trout and ladyfish have been in 4 to 6 feet outside the bar.

not so many keepers as I would like to hear about lots of rats, but there are keeper
Pompano and Trout are just out side the bar, good numbers of fish to keep you busy

of Pirate Harbor, and lager ones out side, Sheep head bigger ones under the mangorve
of two pines, Pompano out side the bar from burnt store down to two pines

Lot sof flounder here as well.
Smaller reds under slot , but fun to catch, pieces of shrimp or smaller Live shrimp
for these rat reds

the larger fish are out side near the bar. Some nice Snappers inside.
Pompano are out side the bar from Pirtae Harbor down to Two pines
the island inside two pines are loaded with Red fish. ther is a lot of Snook here as well
but hard to get to bite.

Some nice red fish just north of burnt store. and the first bay on the south of 2 pines has
some slot fish under the trees and the south side

The Sharks mostly Bonnet/ shovel nose are really thick on the top of the bars
Snook fishing even with the cold water is getting better,

A ton of little tiny Trout in the parking lot they call Pirate Harbor.

have apperaded out of no where again, the Fishing is getting better by the hour.
The Trout and Pompano, as well as Flounder out side the bar
An other good place to find that pre-season Tarpon/.

Back in 2 pines the Snook are stacking up, A bunch of buck Snook out on the open
You are propobly driving over them to get back to the mangroves where you think they are
The Red fish are doing well under the mangroves

working just inside the bar and out side the bar the pompano are in great numbers.
Snook on the open flat as the sun starts to shine. once the water starts getting too warm in
the afternoon they head back up under the mangroves for shade

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--04/27/15------ From @ pines to Burnt store has been great
if not excellent tarpon fishing, the Tarpon have seem to move a little north, towards Pirate Harbor
The tewo pines has some Snook but Better on the reds right now.
If the tide is up a 1.5 or better look for nice size Trout on the flats..

Tons of Snook most are Small but they are loade up at the north end of Hobbs<
Back on the back side the red fish a few but big.
Snook are the thick thick thick.

Moving down from the upper harbor on the way top spawn near the gulf.
Red ifsh out by the bar are larger but not in big munbers. There is quite a few smaller Reds back up aginst
the isalnds

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--06/24/15------ Snook is the thing here, lots of them startoing to com in
from the spawn on the beaches and this is one of the first places the return to after the spawn each year
Te Snook have been out by the sand bar earely in the day and as the sun gets over head the are moving to
the shade of the mangrove trees.
The Trout out on the flats is pretty good fishing from day light until around 10:am.
A few reports of Red fish, the better reports of reds are early in the morning
and very close if not on top of the sand bars

Quite a few Snook to keep you busy, the sharks on the bar or just inside the bar are thick,
the Trout which may be why the sharks are here, are doing well on top of the bar as well

the red fish seem to be more under the mangroves and you will need shrimp or Blue crabs
to have a good day catching.

are all around the islands and early you can find a bunch on the north end of hobbs

Out by the bar there is quite a few, Reds just inside the bar in the grass, why they are there I
got no idea, wrong place, right fish I guess.

Pin fish seem ot be the best bait, try them live if they don't want that, cut the pin fish in half.
The are some Snook in all of the places and getting better by the day or week.
The Trout have been thicker out by the bar, Poppin corks or mirr-o-lures 17 mr best bet for them.

Red fish on the bar, and back to the islands, There is a couple of big schools, slot fish
working their way up and down from burnt store to Two pines

the schools of red fish are feeding along the bars, The Reds being cuaght are hitting the Pin fish
cut up in pieces,.
The Snook are here as well but the reds are doing way better

Fishin Frank & Robert 09/15/15------ Lots of red fish and there is a bunch of Snook, many out in the
middle of the flats laying up in the little holes.

Fishin Frank & Robert 09/07/15------ A bunch of Reds out side on the bar or just iinside the bar.
the afternnonn bite is best for the red fish, I should think morning would be better with the heat and all
but after noon delite it is.
A few Trout and some lady fish on the bar as well.
Tarpon out side the bar are steady to great fishing right now.

October

Fishin Frank & Robert 10/27/15-----Still a lot of Reds cursing the bar from
Burnt store to two pines, Snook are in the burnt store channel.
The pompano are right out side the bar, just south of Brunt store

Tarpon in the Pirate Harbor canals systems , Lil fishy jigs are rocking the Tarpon
Snook are moving back into the canals and out along the mangroves

the are Jacks at the entrance to Pirate Harbor, Reds and Reds, quite a few Small Snook.

schools, the are more keeper and smaller Reds back by the Mangroves, But the big ones out on the bar

Fishin Frank & Robert 11/23/15-----Hobbs there is a lot of Pompano out side the bar to just in side
The red fish are crazy good fishing right now, Live bait , dead bait or lures you have to look but when you
find them it is on.

Point, The Tarpon are in the canals, and just out side the channel the Pompano are holding here

as you get inside the bar there are some Trout and a lot of Red fish , The Snook here seem to be more under the

Fishin Frank & Robert 12/13/16----- Mixed reports 1 guy great on Trout 3 ok 1 bad
so The reds are making a come back mostly smaller ones but a few slot

in the deep holes . Jacks on top of the bar working their way up and down the bar.

Fishin Frank & Robert 12/28/16-------- Lots of Red fish, if you can get to the mangroves, with the shallow water
the reds are hanging out under the trees. look for shade with the red fish.
Some Cobia and a few Trout as well as a handful of Pompano.

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--12/30/14-------Scattered red fish and Snook
the Pompano are out side the bar, Bana Jigs and if it was me I would use a fuzzy tail
crappie jig tipped with a tiny peice of shrimp. The pompano are good eating,
But seem to want very small baits, so regular size shrimp with a #4 hook under
a poppin cork is your best live bait bet
