Charlotte County Bldr's Assoc. President, Bob Miller, invited me to fish a Habitat for Humanity Redfish tournament this weekend. Eleven and a half lbs of redfish put us in fourth($500) and the mystery fish, the biggest jack, was ours also($300). Our Capt., Karl Butigian, had donated the trip to the CCA, and Bob bought it at auction. This 32 yr-old young man had it wired, right from the start. By 8AM we had both of our reds--the bogus boga grip put them both at 7lb each. Only three jacks were weighed. Karl knew exactly where ours was coming from. Two stops all day. When we fish Charlotte County tournaments in the future, if we can't hire Karl, we just won't fish. And I'd never want to have to fish against him. I even hesitated to write this letter of recommendation because I wanted to keep Karl a secret. But he worked so hard and was so prepared with the right baits, tackle, and outstanding fishing plan that I thought that others should know about him. Donít bother booking a charter with any of the other Captains in Charlotte County. This is the only guy you should be paying to take you out. He is outstanding!
