zz09 west wall

West wall.
Blow down creek.
 Muddy Bay
Oyster Creek.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  06/29/2024 — Some redfish and some snook, but the reports have slowed down a little. A couple cobia were reported swimming behind a manatee on top of the bar.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  06/22/2024 — Scattered snook and redfish under the mangroves. More fish in creek mouths, more fish south than north. Shrimp and soft plastic shad are hot, a few have also been caught on whitebait. A few juvenile tarpon around the inside of the bar, and pushing out onto the flats soon(ish).

Robert &  Capt. Josh  06/08/2024 — Lots of little snook and some slot redfish, mostly on shrimp but some on whitebait too. Fish the creek mouths or just along the bushes. Small cobia and bonnetheads cruising the bar. Also, four live horseshoe crabs seen on the bar. Report horseshoe crab sightings here: Horseshoe Crab Survey (arcgis.com)

Robert &  Capt. Josh  06/01/2024 — The best spot in the upper Harbor. Lots of little snook trout, and redfish in the slot, on the flats inside the bar and in the creeks. Moving water is key; shrimp are hot but soft plastics are working.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  05/25/2024 — Some short cobia spotted cruising the bar. Spanish mackerel and a few trout outside the bar. Small snook and redfish up to 26 inches are around the creek mouths; shrimp are still choice.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  05/11/2024 — A lot of little snook, constantly on the move under the mangroves. Redfish are also under the trees eating shrimp; most are in the lower end of the slot. Trout in 3 to 5 feet outside the bar. A few bonnethead sharks spotted. A couple short cobia have been seen on the bar.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  04/27/2024 — Lots of snook out here as they move down toward the beaches. Creek mouths and mangrove overhangs also have some redfish. Trout are on the grass on the south half. Some cobia and Spanish mackerel are on top of the bar.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  04/06/2024 — Lots of snook, mostly under the slot. The bushes and creek mouths are holding redfish. Short cobia and baby bull sharks are cruising the bar.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  03/23/2024 — Lots of little snook and some smaller redfish. A couple pompano and small cobia cruising the bar.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  03/16/2024 — Small redfish and snook are abundant, all under the bushes and in the creeks. A few pompano and short cobia on the bar. Little bull sharks are around too.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  03/09/2024 — A lot of little redfish, but they've been well up under the bushes. You can fish creek mouths, but again, get it near the trees. A few smaller snook around. A couple pompano caught on top of the bar. Some short cobia on the bar as well.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  02/24/2024 — Lots of little redfish under the bushes, with an occasional slot fish. There are some pompano and short cobia on the bar.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  02/17/2024 — Lots of little redfish in the creeks and under the bushes. A few snook have also been caught. Several cobia have been spotted cruising the bar. A couple pompano were caught on the bar about halfway down the wall.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  02/10/2024 — A lot of little redfish and a handful of snook, plus some pompano have been skipped on the bar.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  01/27/2024 — Lots of little redfish, especially at the creek mouths. Just a handful of small snook reported. Some pompano were skipped inside the bar but not caught.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  01/13/2024 — A few small redfish and lots of little snook. There are also some trout and reds outside the bar.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/30/2023 — Some redfish about 14 to 22 inches. Quite a few small snook. A scattering of trout outside the bar, but it's inconsistent. Puffers are chewing up tackle.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/16/2023 — Snook and redfish are scattered under the trees and in the creeks. One cobia was reported caught and another swam by the same fisherman.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/09/2023 — A lot of redfish, including some schools of a couple dozen but mostly singles under the bushes and creek mouth. A lot of small snook under the bushes. Trout are on top of and outside the bar in about 3 feet of water. Cobia have been seen crossing the bar, but not caught.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/02/2023 — Lots of snook and quite a few redfish of assorted sizes on live and cut bait or spoons and soft plastics. A few trout are on the outside edge of the bar.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  11/25/2023 — A whole lot of smaller snook under the shrubbery. Redfish are at the creek mouths taking shrimp and pinfish, and some will be keepers.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  11/18/2023 — A lot of redfish are under the bushes and they're moving around, so your hot spot from yesterday might suck today. A few snook are also under the trees. The trout outside the bar are still biting, but it's not like it was a couple weeks ago. The south end has had some ladyfish, and there might be a tarpon there to eat them.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  11/11/2023 — A lot of little snook, but also an assortment of redfish (mostly just under the slot, but a few keepers). Some trout are in 4-ish feet of water outside the bar south of the halfway point.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  11/05/2023 — Snook and redfish under the bushes, eating shrimp, pinfish, cutbait, soft plastic paddletails, and MirrOdines. Trout are at the mouths of the bigger creeks and in 4 to 6 feet outside the bar. Pompano have skipped but not caught.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  10/28/2023 — One of the better spots overall. Redfish and snook under the bushes and in the creek mouths, taking shrimp, cut ladyfish, live pinfish or whitebait, and of course soft plastic lures. There are trout and ladyfish on top of and outside the bar. A few small bull sharks are around too.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  10/14/2023 — Redfish are under the bushes, and so are snook. Trout and ladyfish on the flats and at the bar edge. Spoons and soft plastics are working well for the trout and ladies, then chop up a ladyfish for redfish bait.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  10/07/2023 — Scattered schools of ladyfish on top of the bar and out to about 8 feet of water, with lots of undersize trout mixed in. Redfish and snook under the bushes and in the creek mouths; reds are slot to oversize and the snook are all small. Fish cut ladyfish or pinfish for the redfish.

Capt. Josh & Fishin' Frank 10/03/23  — Mixed bag here. With so much fresh water coming down the rivers, bait is dying quickly. Use a bucket with an aerator. All the large creek mouths have small to medium redfish and some snook (mostly small, but bigger if you get up into the creeks).

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  09/16/2023 — Lots of snook and 20-inch-class redfish, mostly around the creek mouths. They're hitting lots of different things, but you've got to have moving water, and if there's at least two feet of water that's better.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  09/09/2023 — Action here is picking up. Lots of redfish reports along the bushes, especially near the creek mouths. The same areas are holding scattered snook. Trout on the bar and bar edge. Juvenile tarpon rolling just inside the bar are easy to see but hard to hook.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  09/02/2023 — No reports.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  07/22/2023 — A few redfish plus a handful of smaller snook. Reports of skipped pompano. Heading south, there are more trout, but not big ones. Small sharks are possible outside the bar.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  07/15/2023 — A handful of little snook and lower slot redfish under the bushes and in creek mouths. A few trout on top of the bar and on the outside edge. Some smaller sharks have been spotted cruising around.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  07/01/2023 — A few snook reports, but lots of trout on the bar and outside in 3 to 6 feet of water. Smaller sharks (blacknose and sharpnose, plus a couple baby bulls) have been caught by the trout anglers on shrimp and even lures.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  06/24/2023 — A lot of snook, but they moving a lot and not cooperating well. A couple small redfish. A few trout in 3 to 4 feet of water on top of the bar. A lot of manatees feeding in this area, so watch your speed in shallow water.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  06/10/2023 — Lots of little snook. A few trout on top of the bar. That's it.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  06/03/2023 — Lots of little snook. A few trout. Quite a few manatees. Very clear water.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  05/20/2023 — From Trout Creek south, some snook, a few redfish, and some trout on top of the bar. A couple small cobia seen but not hooked.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  05/13/2023 — It's been quiet, partly due to so many people tarpon fishing. A few cobia seen, a few pompano and trout on the outside of the bar. Some dink snook and redfish caught under the mangroves. The water is very clear here.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  03/25/2023 — The north end is still fairly slow. A scattering of snook and redfish are eating shrimp, cut mullet and cut ladyfish along the south half. The creek mouths are top locations. Some short cobia and manatees have been reported on the grassflats.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  03/18/2023 — The north end is slow, with just a few snook here and there. But from the halfway point south, the creeks are holding decent numbers of snook plus a handful of redfish. Shrimp are good; cut ladyfish are catching reds plus a few of the snook. The flats have been slow, besides some manatee sightings.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  03/11/2023 — The south end has been producing a lot of snook and quite a few redfish, mostly on shrimp. If you want slot reds, go with cutbait instead. The trout are around in fair numbers.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  03/04/2023 — Lots of snook and redfish under the bushes and around the creek mouths. Lures and natural bait are both working. Try soft plastic shad, MirrOdines, live shrimp, or cut mullet/ladyfish. Trout and short cobia on the bar. A few small tarpon spotted on the open flats. Also, one guy caught one pompano, which is potentially significant because other people have skipped them lately.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  02/18/2023 — Some trout outside the bar, mostly on the southern end. Snook and redfish under the bushes. Short cobia on the bar itself. Quite a few bonnethead sharks.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  02/11/2023 — As before, the lower end is better. Redfish from 12 to 24 inches, mostly smaller snook but some big ones are around. Trout and some very short cobia are on the bar. Bonnetheads might be anywhere. Be ready to cover ground to find fish.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  02/04/2023 — The lower end is still much better. Redfish in low end of the slot and snook are both biting. Trout and pompano are on top of the bar, and you might spot a cobia if you keep a sharp watch.

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  01/28/2023 — Some pompano on top of the bar scattered all over. Trout on top and just outside the bar. Some snook and redfish along the bushes anywhere there's water flow. Shrimp and soft plastic shad are both working.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  01/21/2023 — Lots of smaller snook and redfish, but few keeper reds. On top of and outside the bar, we've seen trout, pompano and bonnetheads on shrimp or soft plastic shad. It's better as you go south.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  01/07/2023 — Slow at the north end, snook and reds farther south. Trout and pompano on top of the bar. All are eating shrimp. Overall, OK but not great.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  08/29/2022 — Best shot for a keeper redfish when season opens Sept. 1 is here, but they're very scattered under the trees and in the creek mouths. Moving water is key, fish with cut mullet or ladyfish. There are also snook here doing the same; MirrOdines and soft plastics might also work. Ladyfish and tarpon eating glass minnows on the bar; if there's a feeding frenzy happening the snook and reds might join it.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  08/13/2022 — The trough between the bushes and the flat itself is holding juvenile tarpon. A few snook and redfish are under the trees, most of them farther south.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  07/30/2022 — Very quiet, especially at the north end. Some ladyfish on the bar and outside it.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  07/23/2022 — Pretty quiet. As you get closer to Cape Haze, cutbait under the mangroves might get a red or snook.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  07/02/2022 — Snook and redfish, mostly up under the bushes. Dead bait is good (mullet, ladyfish, shrimp). Some jacks and a few cobia on the flats, plus a couple tarpon in the troughs.

------------------------------------------------

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 05/23/20 ------  The north section is slow but the south half is good with Cobia on the bar and Red fish with some snook in the creeks
Lots of manatees and Cow nose rays in huge schools

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 05/16/20 ------ The north end is slower the best action is south of the tower and there is Cobia and Sharks on the bar with reds under

the mangroves in the south end.

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 05/02/20 ------ Southern part of the wall has a bunch of Snook and reds and on top of the bar Cobia and pompano and the Tarpon are more on hte out side edge of the bar and there is a ton of manatees on the south end close to cape haze watch
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 04/25/20 ------ More on the south end a lot of Reds and bunches of Snook anywhere along the bar on top of the bar Tarpon and mackerel,

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 04/18/20 ------ A lot of Snook they are heading south but the reds are all up and down the wall and Cobia on the bar
The south end has a big school of Manatees

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 04/11/20 ------  a lot of snook and reds keep your distance back these fish are spooky
shrimp and or pin fish. The Spanish are in 6 foot of water  off the bar , the Cobia are crusing the bar as well

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 04/04/20 ------  Pretty good for Pompano and Cobia with some big Tarpon on top of or just out side the bar.
Under the mangroves from hte towers south is best for big Snook and mixed sized Red Fish

question -

Hi Frank
Love the area fishing reports.  West Wall intrigues me.  I have a hybrid bay boat, so can't get in as skinny as a skiff.  I'm comfortable in 2 ft using my trolling motor.  Can I get inside the bar, at least at the south end?
 Thanks Marty

Answer---
You are right about the south end having more water,
https://fishinfranks.com/cape_haze.htm     this is a link to my cape haze page

the 3rd picture and the 6 th picture show how to get in behind the bar pretty good.
on the 3rd you see the yellow circle and the slightly deeper water, just to the north
and now keep in mind depending on the tide that could be 3” to 1’ deep
Just be SURE you are at dead slow IDLE when trying to go into this area. pay NO attention to other boat do not really try to follow other boats,
Go slow and do your own thing, their boat may draft a couple inches less than you and you follow on plane at speed and bam stuck.

After a couple trips in and out you will get to be an old hand and have no trouble getting in or out, give yourself time to learn and explore.
I often use Cape Haze as an entrance to the West wall fishing
Have fun , Stay safe and healthy
Fishin Frank

January

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 01/25/20 ------ Snook are scattered with the larger reds just out side the creek and the small reds are in hte creeks with some Pompano on the bar

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 01/18/20 ------ Some Pompano on the bar and possible Cobia.
Snook all the way up but the better fishing for reds  is to the south end and the small reds "Rat reds" in hte creek on hte wall bigger reds off to each side

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 01/04/20 ------ A lot of snook on hte north end but it is the pompano on the bar
that iis the best bet.

Fishin Frank, & The Blind Tarpon "Robert" Along with Capt. Karl - 01/26/19 ------Doing good later in the day as the water comes up, they are traveling, and looking to eat, Trout snook and red fish even some whiting. stay back from where you cast, the fish are just off the mangroves 10 to 15 feet away from the trees. cast to the trees and drag the shrimp slowly to the fish

Fishin Frank, & The Blind Tarpon "Robert"- 01/19/19 ------- The better fihsing is to the south the creeks and dips which means tiny bays there is a lot of snook,

Fishin Frank, & The Blind Tarpon "Robert" Along with Capt. Karl - 01/12/19 ------- lots of snook under the mangroves
on top of the bar Trout and a few Pompano. Possible Bonnet Sharks,

Fishin Frank, & The Blind Tarpon "Robert"- 01/05/19 -------  the north end has a bunch if red and some creek but it gets better
for the red fish on hte south half, Pompano and bonnet sharks on top of the bar
and possible Trout

Fishin Frank & Robert   01/06/18------- Lots of fish on the wall, hard to get to with the shallow tides
if you can get in to a creek, fish with shrimp, Tons of Trout Red fish, snook, sheep head.

Fishin Frank & Robert   01/15/18------- Trout on hte out side of the bar, with some reds up by the mangroves
not so much under the mangroves, If you can get into the creek thee is a lot of fish but so shallow hard to get in.

Fishin Frank , Robert & Capt. Karl   01/19/18------ Very shallow so not much reports, out side the bar ther is Trout
if you can get into the creeks "if" sheep head and red fish are thick there and there is quite a few pompano
on the south end of the bar.    -

Fishin Frank , Robert & Capt. Karl   01/27/18------Red fish and Trout with a bunch of sheep head in hte creeks
Most of the fishing is at the mouth or just inside of the creek, watch out this shore line is in hte teeth of the east winds

Fishin Frank & Robert   01/10/17-------- Lots of good fish on the low tide
get in as close as you can to the shore, and cast to the trees,
Lot sof Trout on the south end

Fishin Frank & Robert   01/19/17--------

Fishin Frank & Robert   01/30/17-------- The red fish are under theover hanging branches and in the creek mouths
The are some Snook and the Trout on top of the bar and just out side , There are a few bonnet sharks

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--01/22/15-------  Lot sof scatterd Reds under the bushes
If the tide is lower as it is most of the time, right now, the ditch/trough along in front of
the mangorves is where the red ifsh are laying up. So if you dont like casting under the
branches, I would fish the west side you can cast 6 feet in front of the mangorves
and still catch Red fish

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--01/13/15------- Red ifsh all over the wall
as normal look for creek mouths for some of the best numbers of reds
Pompano and Trout are right on top of the bar.
Just out side the sharks smaller one, are here pretty steady

Fishin Frank & Robert   01/04/16----- Along the trees are tons of smaller reds the larger ones
seem to be be back in the creeks,
Out on the bar, pompano and Cobia, and a few Trout can be caught

Fishin Frank & Robert   01/13/16----- The red fish are thicker under the bushes and more slot fish
but there still is a lot of smaller reds here as well.
Pompano and Trout are on top of the bar.

Fishin Frank & Robert   01/26/16----- This is one of the better places to find your Red fish
and the trout are out on the bar. Watch the wind but if you can safely get here the fishing is good right now

February

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 02/22/20 ------ sort of quiet, but the south end has ok Red FIsh and possible Pompano and Cobia on the bar.

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 02/15/20 ------ The reds and Snook are moving around up and down the wall , keep looking you will find them
Possible Trout and Pompano on the bar , with sharks and many other fish possible

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 02/08/20 ------ A lot of reds and snook the red are bigger than most of the snook
the creeks are full of rat reds.  Out of front of the bar near the radio tower big schools of manatees.

Fishin Frank, & The Blind Tarpon "Robert" Along with Capt. Mike Myers - 02/23/19 ------ Snook and red fish the skitter walk is the top water of choice but I would use the skitter V. Pompano and some Trout on the bar.
Maybe Cobia and Permit. The red fish on low tide are 15 feet from the trees and higher tides they are under the mangroves

Fishin Frank, & The Blind Tarpon "Robert"- 02/16/19 ------- Snook and reds are holding next to the mangroves 15 feet from the trees and there is Cobia on the out side of the bar.

Fishin Frank, & The Blind Tarpon "Robert" - 02/09/19 ------- a ton of snook scattered along the wall, the fish are not balled up

Fishin Frank, & The Blind Tarpon "Robert"- 02/02/19 -------  snook mid day bite, 10 feet off the trees. Not under the mngroves

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fishin Frank , Robert & Capt. Karl   02/24/18------This is getting better The reds are on hte south end and the snook are on hte
North end. Popmano on ht south half on hte out side of the bar.

Fishin Frank , Robert & Capt. Karl   02/16/18------The creeks on the north half have Red fish and Snook even Trout
The southern half has more sheep head and Snappers

Fishin Frank , Robert & Capt. Karl   02/10/18------ In side the creeks, is where the fish are Reds, Snook, Sheep head.
and nicer size snappers, the water has been so low not much along the shore line

Fishin Frank , Robert & Capt Josh Olive   02/02/18------Red fish and snook near the creeks
more legal reds than a week ago. Bonnets and Trout on the bar with possible Pompano.

Fishin Frank & Robert   02/13/17-------- Red fish and Snook all up and down the wall,
Out on the bar and just out side, Cobia, Trout and Pompano.
The is a bunch of pin-fish. The pins will really attack your bait so be prepared

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--02/23/15------ Tons of Red fish in the crreks
and The Snook are scattered al along the shore line, you have to work harder
to find the Snook. but worth the effort.
For The reds stay way back and cast into the opeing of the creeks,

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--02/09/15------- Red fish are up in the Creeks,
Trout on the open flat between the mangroves and the sand bar.
The Pompano few though they be have been near the southern end

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--02/02/15-------Trout and Pompano on the bar
THe sharks mostyly bonnet are right off the bar, back under the mangrove the reds
are holding in the creeks. the are Some snook here but not a lot but a fun surprise
when working the trees for Red fish

Fishin Frank & Robert   02/03/16----- Been Red fish on the southern half and the Trout are
On toip of the bar not great number but here in spite of the fresh water.

Fishin Frank & Robert   02/08/16---- Red fish in the creeks, and the wierd thing is there Trout Fsihing
is good over there, I would have bet against it, but they don't seem to mind the fresh water
Which is a good thing as the Red tide can not live in the Harbor now as there is too much fresh water up here
north of cape haze

Fishin Frank & Robert   02/15/16---- Some Trout and red fish on the south half
The Snook and Red fish on the north end in Trout creek are doing well

Fishin Frank & Robert   02/24/16---- Red fish along the southern half
Up farther north the Cobia are working the bar, and The Trout are fairly thick

March

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 03/28/20 ------ a lot of Snook and quite a few reds and they are both scattered under the bushes/mangroves and small Tarpon just in side the bar , Watch for Cobia and the Manatees arte thich by the sand bar watch if you are running.

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 03/22/20 ------  Snook and red fish all along the shore line with larger Snook closer to the south end
Cobia on top of the bar with possible Pompano, Some Spanish and Tarpon out is the the bar 6 foot of water

Fishin Frank, & Robert, The Blind Tarpon - 03/07/20 ------  Red fish and some good size Snook pin fish and shrimp
Top water lures on the south end

Fishin Frank, & The Blind Tarpon "Robert" - 03/30/19 ------- A lot of snook spread out all along the wall and the reds are right there with them or out n the bar. The Sharks and possible Cobia out side the bar on the south end 2 to 4 feet of water and you can sight cast the fish.

Fishin Frank, & The Blind Tarpon "Robert" With Capt Mike Myers- 03/23/19 -------  Lots of snook and red fish under the mangroves
Pompano and sharks even Cobia on the Bar or just out side.

Fishin Frank, & The Blind Tarpon "Robert" - 03/16/19 ------- Snook at the north end in better number and reds on hte south end , The SHarks
and Pompano even Trout n the bar or just off the out side of the sand bar, Possible Cobia on the bar as well

Fishin Frank, & The Blind Tarpon "Robert"- 03/08/19 ------- Lot of snook from the mid point down and weird the ed fish are better from the mid point north, Keep back as far as you can cast from hte bushes for best fihsing
Sharks and Cobia and Trout on the bar its se

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fishin Frank , Robert   03/30/18------  Along the mangroves Snook and red fish the reds are more likley to be in the creeks
Sharks on the bar and The Cobia are in good numbers Gold spoons are a good bet.

Fishin Frank , Robert & Capt. Josh  03/17/18------ Lots os snook under the mangroves and the reds are at the mouth of the creek
For the red fish it is a shrimp thing, Pompano on the bar.

Fishin Frank , Robert & Capt. Josh  03/10/18------ Red fish under hte mangroves and the numbers are getting better
The Trout and pompano on the bar. Snook are also under the mangroves in very good numbers

Fishin Frank & Robert   03/06/17-------- Hard to fish because of the wind, but if you can make it
Cobia and Trout on the bar,
The Snook and red fish are thick under the mangroves or i the trough right in front of these trees

Fishin Frank & Robert   03/13/17--------  Lots of red fish scattered more bigger schools as you get south
The reds are out on the flats not so much under the mangroves,
The SNook are thick in the creek mouths. Pompano on the bar out side Trout creek.

Fishin Frank & Robert   03/23/17--------Lot sof reds and a lot of Snook,
watch for the tides if the water is within a few inches of the branches the Fish are under the trees
If it is a bit lower they are just out infront of them so stay back and cast up to the branches,
then work your bait out from there fishing the trough which gose about 10 feet from the mangroves.

Fishin Frank & Robert   03/29/17-------- Lots of Red fish, mostly by the trees,
But even more the the trough, Lots of Bonnet head sharks, Shovel nose if your friends are here<
sounds better than bonnet. The Pompano and some Trout out on the bar.
Bunches of Snook along the wall, scattered but groups of 2 or more Snook is what we are hearing.

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--03/30/15------ Lot of Snook, a few Red fish
Bith seem  to be not under the trees but just out form them. the ditch along in front of

December

------------------------------------

Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/31/2022 — Fish kills reported in the creeks, but we have seen no ironclad proof. If they did, it was due to rapid chilling and not red tide. Trout on the bar edges, pompano skipped but not hooked, bonnetheads on the flats.

Robert &  Capt. Josh  12/24/2022 — The north end in quiet. Heading down toward Cape Haze, there are some snook, redfish and trout.

January

On toip of the bar not great number but here in spite of the fresh water.

Fishin Frank & Robert   02/08/16---- Red fish in the creeks, and the wierd thing is there Trout Fsihing
is good over there, I would have bet against it, but they don't seem to mind the fresh water
Which is a good thing as the Red tide can not live in the Harbor now as there is too much fresh water up here
north of cape haze

Fishin Frank & Robert   02/15/16---- Some Trout and red fish on the south half
The Snook and Red fish on the north end in Trout creek are doing well

In the mouths of the creeks and just under a big green leafy bush. good fishing
here along the wall, also some Black drum and sheep head. with you never know what
all in the same spot. What ever had been going on this last week has seen a turn around
in the fishing.

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--03/09/15------- The Red fish and Snook are both here
in good numbers. The fish are right up under the bushes, the Reds are still hitting shrimp
and a few Snook, but whtie bait seems to be the ticket as the water gets warmer.

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--03/02/15------- The west wall is a mix of good and bad
the Red are here and lots of them but they are either bunched up are just one lonley fish
hard to tell. which you have so if you get one, keep fishing there a while, once one hits
it can take a while for the other ones to bite.
There are some Trout out on the flat and on top of the bar.
The murky water on this side of the harbor make it easier to catch fish here as you can be closer

afternoon here in Trout creek

Fishin Frank & Robert   03/16/16---- Red fish, Snook, Red fish, snook, red fish, Snook
Ok they are bith here and they are hanging out side by side, the fresh water has slowed down
and the Snook and reds have moved in

Fishin Frank & Robert   03/24/16----Red fish heaven right now, but they are finicky feeding.

White bait, or shrimp, or Pin fish or cut bait good luck with these fish, you see a school of
30 reds and then try to figure out how to get them to eat.
The Snook are slowy moving down the wall from the rivers and the creek are loaded up with them.

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--04/27/15------Not the best fishing of the year here on the west
wall, but there are Red fish and Snook both here in good fishable numbers, finding them and getting
them to eat another story, Have white bait, Pin fish, shrimp, and the kitchen sink, as the is no
pattern as to whwt they want to eat.

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--06/08/15------ This is a better place for red fish,
under the trees or in the mouth of the creeks, cut bait or shrimp woring well.
If I was fishing the mouth of a creek I would want white bait, but for casting under the magrove
it is a shrimp thing
