Robert & Capt. Josh 06/29/2024 — Lots of black drum. A handful of snook. Some of the canals are holding good numbers of baby tarpon, which can be sometimes hooked on flies or tiny lures such as the DOA Tiny TerrorEyz. Mangrove snapper have made a mass exodus.

Robert & Capt. Josh 06/22/2024 — Lots of mangrove snapper, especially at the canal mouths. Black drum are forming groups. Bull sharks up to 6 feet have been caught in the canals, which is odd. Some jacks have been chasing threadfins around and taking topwater baits.

Robert & Capt. Josh 06/08/2024 — Lots of mangrove snapper, and lots of little snook. A couple sheepshead, but just a couple. Black drum seen, not caught. Some juvenile tarpon caught on soft plastics or whitebait.

Robert & Capt. Josh 06/01/2024 — Mangrove snapper of assorted sizes. Sheepshead are really slowing down. There have been a few black drum scattered around. Snook and juvenile tarpon are swimming around the lights at night.

Robert & Capt. Josh 04/27/2024 — Lots of little snook mostly under the docks, but also caught trolling. A handful of larger sheepshead. Lots of juvenile tarpon to look at. Black drum are popping up.

Robert & Capt. Josh 04/06/2024 — Mangrove snapper, with some decent keepers too. A couple sheepshead. We're hearing and seeing black drum, but not hooking any yet. Lots of small snook and a couple keepers. Small jacks at random locations, but mostly near canal mouths.

Robert & Capt. Josh 03/23/2024 — Lots of small snook in the canals, and some juvenile tarpon. A couple black drum caught but lots more seen. A few baby goliath grouper around the docks and non-moving boats.

Robert & Capt. Josh 03/16/2024 — A few jacks, some short snook, a few black drum, a few sheepshead (but bigger), and lots of juvenile tarpon.

Robert & Capt. Josh 03/09/2024 — Lots of little snook and a whole lot of baby tarpon (not eating). Black drum are starting to gather up into little groups. Sheepshead randomly sprinkled about. Jacks cruising through also.

Robert & Capt. Josh 11/05/2023 — Lots of little snook and a lot of small tarpon for lookin' at. Some very nice mangrove snapper in the 12- to 14-inch range on live shrimp or small pinfish. A couple black drum.

Robert & Capt. Josh 10/14/2023 — Lots of little snook and a couple bigger ones. Good numbers of juvenile tarpon, mostly for watching but a few anglers are actually catching them. A couple black drum are around.

Robert & Capt. Josh 10/07/2023 — A whole lot of little snook on whitebait. Juvenile tarpon have been caught on whitebait, live shrimp and soft plastic paddletails. Black drum have been heard thumping but not caught. Some jacks are around.

Capt. Josh & Fishin' Frank 10/03/23 — Snook are doing very well in the PGI canals on jigs and swimbaits, and there are lots of jacks too. Big goliath grouper (20 to 60 lb) under the docks on big chunks of cutbait. Lots of mangrove snapper, mostly way small.

Robert & Capt. Josh 07/22/2023 — Black drum up to 50ish pounds. Some snook. Juvenile tarpon to watch but not catch, but of course you can try. Throw something small, like 2 or 2.5 inches small.

Robert & Capt. Josh 07/15/2023 — Lots of black drum around. Some snook but they're not cooperating as much. Juvenile tarpon are popping up in the snook lights at night. Lots of Mayan cichlids under docks in some of the PGI canals.

Robert & Capt. Josh 07/01/2023 — Black drum are abundant. As in the PC canals, some are eating and some are not, but some good ones in the 30-pound range have been landed. Smaller snook are also around, mostly caught trolling.

Robert & Capt. Josh 06/24/2023 — Black drum are taking shrimp, blue crabs chunks and scented soft plastic paddletails. Baby tarpon rolling, hard to hook. Some snook caught trolling the canals or pitching under the docks. Of course, lots of catfish.

Robert & Capt. Josh 03/25/2023 — Some big jacks and legal snook, plus a few black drum and mangrove snapper. Small tarpon might be rolling anywhere. Shrimp are the hot bait.

Robert & Capt. Josh 03/18/2023 — A whole lot of snook, both shorts and keepers. Most legal fish have been taken on shrimp. Jacks are cruising through and hitting whatever. Tarpon are rolling and black drum are passing by, but they have not been easy to hook.

Robert & Capt. Josh 03/11/2023 — Jacks are reasonably abundant. Lots of black drum and juvenile tarpon seen but not hooked. Small mangrove snapper are scattered all over. There are lots of small snook plus more than a few keepers around. As with the other spots, live shrimp are the choice bait.

Robert & Capt. Josh 03/04/2023 — The highlight for this week. Lots of snook around docks and under boats. Lots of jacks up to 18 pounds, caught trolling, still-fishing, drifting and any method you want to use. Still not catching the black drum, although they're definitely in there. Few sheepshead reports lately.

Robert & Capt. Josh 02/18/2023 — Lots of little snook and a couple bigger ones. Black drum are showing and sounding but hard to catch still. The real story is big jacks, with lots of 10- to 15-pounders. Big offshore-style poppers are catching those jacks.

Robert & Capt. Josh 02/11/2023 — Plentiful small snook plus some larger ones. Jacks up to 15 pounds blowing up on mullet. Mangrove snapper are around but sheepshead have vanished. Spadefish and juvenile tarpon are possible.

Robert & Capt. Josh 02/04/2023 — Lots of snook. Sheepshead up to about 15 inches. Smaller mangrove snapper. Jacks in the 5- to 8-pound range, plus a few larger ones. Juvenile tarpon frustrating people. Black drum visible but not really biting.

the lights at night are loaded up with Snook.
The Tarpon back in the canals are also really feeding early in the AM just after sun up is best
Ponce has some Snapper and Sheep head head. there has been some Red fish caught thee as well.
Right when the park opens the snook are laid up in the middle of the canal and try a rat-L-trap slow crank
let it sink.

Robert & Capt. Josh 12/31/2022 — Lots of snook in the canals especially on the lights. A few mangrove snapper and a couple redfish on the rim canal headed toward Buckley Pass.

Robert & Capt. Josh 12/24/2022 — Juvenile tarpon active but not really eating. Bigger mangrove snapper are biting. Snook and black drum are around. A few sheepshead have been caught but we are expecting more.

has cleaered but the light have Snook and cat fish. Big Jacks in the canals as well

The canals are good fishing,

Black drum and Jacks are both in the canals.

under the docks where ever there is a corner.

Big snook at night a lot of them.

Snook fishing, and the jacks 8 to 10 pounders caught while trolling.

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--01/13/15------- Big Jacks back in the canals
the red fish and Black drum are closer to the mouths of the canals, some Trout
in the rim canal

Fishin Frank & Robert 01/13/16----- Ponce has sheep head and snappers good activity fish
not much size to most of them but quite a few fish to play with, there are some black drum
and red fish here as well, and the Trout are becoming more frequent catches

back in the Pgi cnals there is a lot of jacks big jacks and a lot of tarpon as well

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--02/23/15------ The canals have lots of Red fish
in them cast under the docks free line shrimp, or a storm twitch. WHere you think
the Snook should be you will find Reds.

Fishin Frank & Robert's report--02/09/15-------Sheep head but the snapper
are checking out the stuff stirred up by the dredge, I think that is why the sheep head are
hanging out. Trout when the barge is not working are moving in and out of the canal

but there are some Big Black drum to be had.

under the docks as well, Tarpon in most of the larger bays, and some Trout in the rim canal

Snook fishin early as the park opens is very good right now rat-l-traps are a good bet, Bombers
and rapala 10 gren and silver white best bets, for lures

And bunches of Snook. Huge Jacks 10 pound plus. Has been black drum and snapper in Ponce

Fishin Frank & Robert 04/16/16----JAcks are the one thing sort of staedy here
But the Tarpon make a run by here just after sun up.
