Robert & Capt. Josh 06/29/2024 — Lots of black drum. A handful of snook. Some of the canals are holding good numbers of baby tarpon, which can be sometimes hooked on flies or tiny lures such as the DOA Tiny TerrorEyz. Mangrove snapper have made a mass exodus.
Robert & Capt. Josh 06/22/2024 — Lots of mangrove snapper, especially at the canal mouths. Black drum are forming groups. Bull sharks up to 6 feet have been caught in the canals, which is odd. Some jacks have been chasing threadfins around and taking topwater baits.
Robert & Capt. Josh 06/08/2024 — Lots of mangrove snapper, and lots of little snook. A couple sheepshead, but just a couple. Black drum seen, not caught. Some juvenile tarpon caught on soft plastics or whitebait.
Robert & Capt. Josh 06/01/2024 — Mangrove snapper of assorted sizes. Sheepshead are really slowing down. There have been a few black drum scattered around. Snook and juvenile tarpon are swimming around the lights at night.

Capt. Josh & Fishin' Frank 10/03/23 — Snook are doing very well in the PGI canals on jigs and swimbaits, and there are lots of jacks too. Big goliath grouper (20 to 60 lb) under the docks on big chunks of cutbait. Lots of mangrove snapper, mostly way small.

Robert & Capt. Josh 07/15/2023 — Lots of black drum around. Some snook but they're not cooperating as much. Juvenile tarpon are popping up in the snook lights at night. Lots of Mayan cichlids under docks in some of the PGI canals.
Robert & Capt. Josh 07/01/2023 — Black drum are abundant. As in the PC canals, some are eating and some are not, but some good ones in the 30-pound range have been landed. Smaller snook are also around, mostly caught trolling.

Robert & Capt. Josh 03/25/2023 — Some big jacks and legal snook, plus a few black drum and mangrove snapper. Small tarpon might be rolling anywhere. Shrimp are the hot bait.
Robert & Capt. Josh 03/18/2023 — A whole lot of snook, both shorts and keepers. Most legal fish have been taken on shrimp. Jacks are cruising through and hitting whatever. Tarpon are rolling and black drum are passing by, but they have not been easy to hook.
Robert & Capt. Josh 03/11/2023 — Jacks are reasonably abundant. Lots of black drum and juvenile tarpon seen but not hooked. Small mangrove snapper are scattered all over. There are lots of small snook plus more than a few keepers around. As with the other spots, live shrimp are the choice bait.

Lots of jacks up to 18 pounds, caught trolling, still-fishing, drifting and any method you want to use. Still not catching the black drum, although they're definitely in there. Few sheepshead reports lately.

heating up and as with every where they will be moving
the lights at night are loaded up with Snook.
The Tarpon back in the canals are also really feeding early in the AM just
after sun up is best
Ponce has some Snapper and Sheep head head. there has been some Red fish caught
thee as well.
Right when the park opens the snook are laid up in the middle of the canal and
try a rat-L-trap slow crank
let it sink.

Robert & Capt. Josh 12/24/2022 — Juvenile tarpon active but not really eating. Bigger mangrove snapper are biting. Snook and black drum are around. A few sheepshead have been caught but we are expecting more.

back in the canals
and at ponce there is some black drum being caught and some smaller snappers
The jacks come through ponce a couple times a day. but being there when they go
thourgh
is the trick with them. the other trick is having a rod with a silver spoon
ready for when they start busting the
water trying to re rig and get the sinker off your line, takes too long and they
will be gone.
have an extra rod rigged and ready to pick up and cast

03/24/16---- Snook in the canals is really
heating up and as with every where they will be moving
the lights at night are loaded up with Snook.
The Tarpon back in the canals are also really feeding early in the AM just
after sun up is best
Ponce has some Snapper and Sheep head head. there has been some Red fish caught
thee as well.
Right when the park opens the snook are laid up in the middle of the canal and
try a rat-L-trap slow crank
let it sink.
